Long ago, human beings realized that the root of many life problems are found in the mind. You see, what you think has a profound impact on your experience of life.
There is a yoga teaching that says for every blink of an eye, you have 1,000 thoughts. Of these, a small fraction make their way into your conscious mind. Most of your thoughts occur in your subconscious mind, yet they have a significant effect on your emotions and behaviors.
Yoga practice, which includes postures, breathing, and meditation, is a systematic way of bringing what is in the unconscious mind into conscious awareness. When this happens, you are better able to make choices about what you think, say, and do, better able to create a peaceful and fulfilling life.
Yoga practice will help you become aware of what is in your mind and provides tools for changing your thoughts. These tools include mantra and ritual.
