OUR CLASSES

We offer a variety of classes to meet you wherever you are on your journey to physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being.

Candlelit Somatic Yoga

Candlelit somatic yoga is a practice that focuses on internal bodily sensations and awareness. Movements are slow, gentle, and exploratory. You'll be guided to move in ways that feel natural and comfortable, allowing for a gradual release of muscular tension and stress. Practicing yoga in this way improves movement efficiency, flexibility, and overall physical coordination.

This class is suitable for individuals of all ages and fitness levels who are interested in deepening their understanding of their bodies and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Prana Shakti Yoga

“... yoga teaches you how to gain a strong immune system, vital glands, a strong nervous system, good circulation, and awareness of the impact of your habits. “ - The Aquarian Teacher

There are many facets of yoga.   In this class, you learn to circulate your energy through pranayama ( breathing techniques), kriya (action or movement),  japa (chanting mantras), mudra (hand position),  and meditation to relax and calm our minds.

Psychic Mediumship

This is a class for people interested in developing their psychic mediumship abilities in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. All levels of experience are welcome! Sessions are led by experienced psychic medium, Jess Karas. Each meeting will include raising vibrations, skill development exercises, and  group tuning-in. Topics like ethics, spiritual law, personal responsibility, working with Spirit, etc. will be an ongoing part of each

session.

Reiki Share

A Reiki share is an event where practitioners and non-practitioners gather to practice and share Reiki healing energy. During a Reiki share

participants take turns either giving or receiving Reiki treatments. This allows everyone to experience both giving and receiving the healing energy.

Reiki shares foster a sense of community and provide a supportive environment where people can connect, share their journey with Reiki, and receive encouragement from others who understand and appreciate the practice.

Slow Flow Yoga

Slow flow yoga is a style of yoga that combines the principles of traditional yoga with a slower pace and gentler movements. It typically involves moving through poses slowly and mindfully, synchronizing breath with movement.  Slow flow yoga offers a balanced practice that benefits both the body and mind, making it a good choice if you're looking to unwind, increase flexibility, and cultivate a deeper awareness of your body.

Soulful Serenity

In this class, you are invited to unwind, release, and connect deeply with your inner calm. Through gentle stretches, intentional breathwork, and mindful stillness, you’ll create space for healing and relaxation.

Suitable for all levels, this serene practice offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, listen to your body, and cultivate a sense of peace and harmony within. I can’t wait to see you there!

Yin Yoga & Myofascial Release

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that involves deep stretching and holding poses for extended periods, typically 3 to 5 minutes or longer. This practice not only targets the body's connective tissues, promoting flexibility and joint mobility, but also activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping reduce stress and anxiety. Yin Yoga is known to enhance the function of various organ systems by improving circulation and energy flow, particularly in the kidneys, liver, and heart, which are associated with emotional and physical well-being.

Myofascial Release involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to the fascia—the connective tissue surrounding muscles—to alleviate tension and improve circulation.

Together, these practices significantly benefit the nervous system by promoting relaxation, enhancing emotional regulation, and reducing the physical effects of stress.

Engaging in Yin Yoga and myofascial release can lead to a calmer mind, improved body awareness, and a greater sense of overall well-being.

Yoga for Back Care

Yoga for back care is a special approach to yoga that focuses on strengthening and stretching the muscles supporting the spine, improving posture, and alleviating back pain. During this class, you'll be guided through a slow sequence of yoga postures that focus on the abdominal, lower back, and upper back muscles.

Regular practice of yoga for back care can help prevent and manage various types of back pain, including chronic conditions such as sciatica or herniated discs. It may also improve overall spinal health and mobility.

Yoga for the Seasons

There are many approaches to asana and pranayama practice and, IMO, one of the best is an Ayurveda-inspired approach.

An Ayurveda-inspired approach is based on the idea that five elements form the fabric of all things. Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether combine in predictable ways to become everything we can taste, touch, smell, hear, and see.

In addition, the elements manifest in thoughts, emotions, and time.

Every season is characterized by a combination of the elements . For example, in late winter, the Earth and Water elements combine and create something called Kapha dosha.

A dosha is a way something gets spoiled - it's when there's too much of something, in this case, too much Earth and Water. The too-muchness creates an elemental imbalance that can be observed and felt.

An Ayurveda-inspired approach to yoga asana and pranayama, purposely balances the doshas. So when there's too much Earth and Water present, we choose to do postures and breathing practices that increase the Fire, Air, and Ether elements. In this way, the elements come into balance and health is enhanced.

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Study Group

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali were written around the 4-5th century CE to systematize the practice of yoga. Drawing from Vedic, Buddhist, and Jain philosophies, the Sutras describe the problem that yoga can solve. That is, yoga is the practice that stills the churnings of the mind.

The churning mind is the source of the problems we encounter in life. Especially, unexamined thoughts propel us to act and speak in a manner that creates suffering.

If we want to know peace, then we want to cultivate a quiet mind so that whatever is arising in the field of life can be observed with clarity and responded to lucidly.

During this 12-week study group, we will read the four chapters of the Yoga Sutras and its commentary. Let's create community around our shared loved of yoga and support each other in becoming sincere practitioners.

Yoga Level 1

Level 1 Yoga practice is perfect for people who are new to yoga and comfortable moving from the floor to standing or for longer-time practitioners interested in getting back to basics. We'll focus on alignment, form, and breathing.

During this class you will develop greater self awareness, use the breath as a healing agent, and develop stability and ease in your body and mind. By moving slowly and cultivating an attitude of loving kindness toward yourself, you truly will foster a healthy body, peaceful mind, and loving heart.

Yoga Level 2

Level 2 Yoga practice is for people who have been practicing yoga for at least one year and have a basic understanding of yoga practice. This class may include more advanced asanas including inversions and back bends. In addition, we will include pranayama, chanting, and maybe even a bit of meditation.

This is a good class for you if you are interested in learning to develop a sincere yoga practice.
